Merry Music Makers
Hello Parents,
Hello Parents,
We are planning a fun theme called "Merry Music Makers" for the next two weeks. We will explore song, music, movement, rhythm, instruments, and more. Musical experiences in early childhood can actually accelerate brain development, particularly in the areas of language acquisition and reading skills. It helps the body and the mind work together. Exposing children to music during early development helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words. Dancing to music helps children build motor skills while allowing them to practice self-expression. For children and adults, music helps strengthen memory skills.
Here are our goals for this unit.
Our memory verse this unit is “Sing to the Lord, bless His name.” Psalm 96:2
We will discuss types of music, different instruments, moods, and how they can tell a story or give a feeling. We will talk about how music is all around us and how we can make music with our bodies. We will also make some of our own musical instruments. On April 29th my dad will be coming in to play several of his stringed instruments from his soprano ukulele to his upright bass.
Our pretend center will be turned into a concert stage with instruments and microphones with a working karaoke system. Please message me some songs that your child likes to sing so that I can put them in our playlist. We are so excited to have some fun with music!
Just a reminder to wear your “Kind” shirt on May 3rd
